Let's get started sewing this fall on our new wardrobes. I know I'm anxious to do this. We have some plans for this fall and I hope you are interested. If you have program requests please call the shop or send the shop an email with your suggestions.
We meet on the 2nd Sat. of the month starting at 10:30. You can bring sewing machines, software or whatever you are interested in. If you have made a lot of number changes to your program, please keep a notebook of the changes you have made.
There is a new handout in PDF form that you can download with some good information about using the My Label patterns to help you fit other commercial patterns. This file is in the Learn It Section/My Label Classes on the Bernina web site. It's only 6 pages and is great information. This is the reference information to the webinar Debbie Lashbrook did earlier. Take advantage of this information.
There has been a Service Pack 1 for My Label available on the web for a while. Please make sure you have downloaded this. Go to www.berninausa.com and look for Support and then Downloads and scroll down until you see it.
We have been on a roll with My Label and all the new patterns. The Pullover Top is the lastest new pattern available for download. Please note this is for knits only but very stylish and lots of possibilities. The latest pattern modification is the Smocked Blouse which looks like a modern version of the peasant blouse. Make sure you have downloaded information for thepattern modifications for the Wrap Skirt and the Summer Tunic, tucked top, plus imported the Jeans, Kimono and Pleated Skirt. The location for the downloads is on the Bernina website under Support, then downloads. Read the next paragraph if you are having problems downloading.
If your Model (Nina) goes gray or doesn't have underwear on (heavens!) then you need to update your graphic card. Go to the web site of your Brand of computer and download all updated drivers. Trust me, it works. If you are having issues, let me know.
New Instructions for downloading on IE 8. Due to a lot of us updating our computers to IE 8 you may not be able to download the new style easily. Ask me how I know! Anyway, it's easy once you know the trick. Basically you are following the basic download directions of "Save Target as" and in this box you change the name of the file to .pdz (it may have zip or nothing by it but it needs this) and save file type to all files and save in the file of your choice. It will download to the folder you selected but it will not be zipped now. Open your My Label software and minimized it. Double click on the file and you will hear a ding (meaning a dialogue box is open behind this page) so you minimize it and it will ask you to import and another question which you answer yes to. Easy as that.
Any additional questions about My Label software, go to label@yahoogroups.com and sign on as a visitor. The group discusses their issues and help each other with working in this software.
If you are not familiar with My Label, it is the new Pattern Making software produced by Bernina and it is as good as their digitizing software. Go to the Bernina Website www.berninausa.com and click on the My Label icon and watch the video. You will see what all the excitement is about. This software has 3D views and sewing instructions which is very unusual for this kind of software. Usually you're on your own with that part of it.
My Label has proven to be a great help for those of you that can't fit themselves. We've really had great success and many of you are walking around in clothes that really fit. Once we get the muslin tweaked, you will be amazed.
All those who have purchased their My Label at Klassy Katz are invited to attend as part of your purchase. Those of you that do not own the software as of yet, please visit our club and see what it is all about as our guest. Those of you that have purchased the software elsewhere but would like to attend, just register a nominal fee of $35 for the year. Please consider buying updates from us as they become available.
We have a wonderful selection of dress fabrics and pressing tools to help you in your pursuit of clothing construction. These items are hard to find and we have the tools.
